Hi there!
Not much to report right now. Things are at a standstill since I've written myself into a corner. Alrik(Chekron) is tapping very quietly inside my head to prompt to get him out of it. Hopefully, I'll figure out which way I want the thread to head before he decides to dig out the sledgehammer.
I've been doing a ton of reading. That's how I spent my summer, since it was too cold to swim. (Sorry Alrik.) I absolutely love my EZ Reader. It's like a Kindle, with the electronic paper not a backlight, but I'm not stuck ordering my books strictly from Amazon. (The same reason I didn't order a Sony ebook. I don't like being restricted.) You can actually see it out in the sun, unlike early versions of ebook readers. Stick this thing in a zip-lock bag, and you can read in the pool!
Fictionwise.com is my source for ebooks, and the EZ Reader will read just about any type of file you can think of. I have mine set to read Mobipocket DRMs (secure ebooks), which nearly every book is available in. I have the Twilight series on this thing, as well as Christine Feehan's Game series, and so many more. There are very few authors anymore who don't have their books in electronic form. And a 8gig SD card holds quite a lot of books. :-)
I love being able to throw this thing in my purse and just go. I always have a book with me now. Love it! The only thing I still dislike about ebooks right now is that the big-name publishers still try to charge hard cover prices for their ebooks when they come out, even though there's no printing or paper involved. I refuse to pay that. Fortunately, Fictionwise has a Wish List, which will allow you to set your desired price, then will email you when the book's price drops. Gotta love technology. And, in case you were wondering, you absolutely CAN find my futuristics at Fictionwise. :-)
TTFN, and take care,
Lissa

This has to be the hardest part of writing, for me anyway, deciding what to say about myself. (Yes, I cringed in job interviews when my potential boss would smile and say, "So, tell me a little about yourself.") I was born and raised in a small town in the suburbs of Chicago. Other times and places were always more interesting to me than boring old now, so instead of watching The Brady Bunch like the other kids I grew up with, I was glued to the TV watching Buck Rogers and Battlestar Gallactica, The Adventures of Robin Hood, Excalibur, and anything else steeped in fantasy. I loved to read, and since Mom had a closet full of books, I raided those shelves constantly—of course, they were romances. My favorites were always the ones with the pirate heroes. I tried writing one when I was a teenager, but quickly discovered that I had no clue about what I was doing, so I locked away that dream of becoming a writer and concentrated my studies on a normal job. In the process, I met my husband Mike. Instead of going to my senior prom, we walked down the aisle. It wasn't until after the birth of my second child, and we'd decided that it would be best if I stayed home with the girls, that I was able to act on my dream of becoming a writer. This time though, I decided that I was going to do it right. I took correspondence courses, read every writing "How To" I could get my hands on (I still do), and joined the Romance Writers of America. Captive Hearts is my dream finally realized. I hope you enjoy it. Would you like your copy of Captive Hearts or Real Magic autographed?
